I'm not lookiong for anything. But I could be tempted to part with a NOS timing gear if what you have to trade is interesting enough, heance the question, what do you have to trade?

  • Hi, I have one, part number S350 ( cast with built in spacer) that was made by republic gears in Canada in the 80's

but I just had hernia surgery and am in no shape to go out for a while. I looked in the new catalog for Mustangs Unlimited it's under S406T as a part number, if you can wait for a while I have your part and will sell it

  • I've been looking for that one myself. I have a NOS 64 hipo .75 inch thrust plate. and have been looking about 5 years for that gear and spacer. you may have no choice but to upgrade.

  • MSuHsEtLaBnYG, you contacted me a couple of months ago on this gear and then again in the last couple of weeks. That same gear is still sitting by my keyboard as I write this message.

  • Guys,

I'm upgrading my L7-L8? Hipo from the earlier thrust plate and funky counter sunk hour glass head screws to the later style thrust plate hex head bolts. You can do the same - just buy the later model cam gear and a new thurst plate from any small block Ford 289/302.

I purchased the full Cloyes gear/chain set at my local auto parts store - they did have to order it, but had it in 2-3 days. I purchased the later style top gear to work properly with my new thrust plate.

I have posted the Cloyes information here several times, but as of about 3 years ago Cloyes still made everything - could be obsolete now, but I'd bet you'll find inventory collecting dust on a shelf if you look. You can search the archive for info.

I think I still have the used early gear and cam spacer in a bag, but my early thrust plate is cracked.

I thnk Bob Mannel's book covers this difference too.
