Anybody knows where I can get my hands on an original 66 shelby hood? If not who makes the best reproduction? I have a repro. now but I am not happy with it. It is shorter than it should be. I have no Idea made it.

I am looking for any type of original shelby hood but I prefer an all steel or steel and fiberglass combination. That one on ebay is way too much for me. I would settle for a good reproduction if that is the going rate. Who makes the best reproduction?

Did you contact Jim as Mike mentioned? He used to make the best repro steel frame fiberglass skin hood IMO but I don't know if he still does. I have one I bought from him in 1988 and it is pretty much impossible to distinguish from an original.

There was a post on Craigslist about a month ago in California that included an "original 1966 Shelby hood" that was in need of some repair. As I recall it had damage on the front driver's side corner and a line across the hood scoop. Price was very reasonable. The contact information was / is: "66 GT 350 SHELBY ORIGINAL PARTS - $100 AlTayl8@aol.com call 818-430-6521" Post included an offer for a driver's side door (fastback glass), rear seat, and some brass lettering that spelled out SHELBY COBR (missing A). It might be worth a call or e-mail. Good luck in your search. Rick

I believe the best reproduction hood is offered by Tony Branda. The highest quality (price) vacuum formed version. Again .... good luck. Rick
