• Nice correct driver quality car. Car has had one repaint done poorly about 20 years ago. The car has never been hit anywhere that I can tell. The fenders have never been removed from the car. The only rust is a small spot on the drivers door on the lower front corner. The original vin stamped engine is still in the car and has no issues. The trans has been relplaced with a later model top loader. I do not have the original 4spd for the car. The car does have the original rear end. The original carb has just been rebuilt by Pony and works great. The rally pack was restored by the Tack-man. Front disc brakes rebuild about a year ago. Engine has a original sims cobra T oil pan.

Damn, there goes another one. Seems over 75% of the good cars I see advertised eventually sell and leave the US.

Click the link under the photo in my sig. Should tell you most of what you want to know. It's about 95% original paint all original interior. I believe it's listed as the best peservered 63 K code in the Fairlane registry. Price is $29,900. I have two people very interested in my 69Rcode scj Mustang coupe. If it sales then the Fairlane will no longer be for sale. Here is a link to the 69.

Surely It does not matter where they live does it ?

We are all but temporary custodians of these cars. If someone takes all the trouble to import one and then source all the parts etc to restore and look after it - can only be a good thing.

Look at it this way if 75% of them are leaving then yours will be more soughtafter.

And no you cant have mine back yet <img src=images/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

to me it matters where it goes. Once overseas, it will likely never make it back to the states. Driving up prices due to rarity is not always a good thing for us.

I agree and disagree with you.

In our computor age the market place for these cars is truly world wide so a car advertised overseas on the internet can equaly be bought and return to the US as to go anywhere else.

I cannot speak for other countries but the knowledge of K cars in the UK is limited, so mine would be more likely to find a new owner back over there.

I would not object at all to my car being re patriated when I am too old to enjoy it.

I agree about the pricing, that was meant to be a fun remark as detailed by the smiley.

I think that if parts and car prices get out of reach it will do great harm to the hobby, the ordinary bloke will not be able to carry out the restoration he wants to the standard he wants, and could also lead to lots of repro parts being produced that fall below the standard of OEM diluting the breed.

I guess I'll leave it a few months before I make you an offer Ray

  • It doesn't matter to me as long they go to good homes.

I remember in the early 70's when importers in Sweden

bought american cars on the east coast and shipped them over

the atlantic. Sold them with good profit to car hungry Swedes.

These cars, some very rare like Shelbys, Crown Victorias with

the glass roofs and all types of muscle cars endeed up in Sweden and many are still there. I bought my 67 Shelby in the L.A. area

in 1977 and still have it parked there. Drive it in the summer time

    every year.

  • G'day

Just missed out on buying this threads vehicle, may have acted a little faster if I had seen the thread before hand and been able to trace further back ground. But thought an update on it might be in order.

It seems it was bought out to OZ by a dealer in Sydney who has just re sold it. I believe it is now finding a new home in Melbourne.

I imagine he got the $38,500AUS asking price.

    Cheers

Thanks for the update. If any other prospective buyers have any questions feel free to ask. You missed a good one. This is a truly unmolested car.
