Here's Some Good News 65 K Code Sells for $100k

  • Fraser Dante indicated that they sold what they call "the finest K code in the country" for $100k. It's black on red with a black top 65 GT Convertible. Looks great in the pictures. They said someone from Canada purchased the car a few months back. Nice to see given how soft the market has been. Here's the link:

  • I wouldn't trust anything Fraser Dante says. Most of his Ford stuff I've seen is incorrect and way over priced.

This board had a bad experience with him regarding a "rebody" car he had and claimed was 100% correct. He even threatened me personally with legal action.

He also doesn't have the most stellar reputation in the Atlanta area Mustang community.

FYI - he is NOT a FORD guy - his specality is GM products.

  • Pretty sure that is the car that Randy Stone restored and shows in MCA/AACA for a few years. Randy is an MCA Gold Card Judge and his work is pretty good. I can see a few things here and there on the car, but overall, looks real nice. Of course, I hope the buyer spent the time to authenticate the car, as anyone should do for any car purchase.

  • Perhaps that was $100K Canadian.<img src=images/icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle> If it was US it is good news for current K code owners and supports the notion that high quality cars are still worth a premium.

  • I think Charles is right about Randy Stone restoring this car, I had spoken with Randy a few years back about doing my K and he sent me pictures of this car-that was about 2004ish-I think the car was recently finished back then, I have heard nothing but good about Randy and feel that the car is pretty near perfect!

I do wonder about the fuel pump on the engine....shouldn't it be a button top 3939S? thats what mine has.....

I hope the new owner finds our great site and comes and joins us!

  • Too bad the car has 67 Torque boxes in it and was wrecked on the right hand side, and from the pictures the carpet don't fit either. Also look at the undercarriage contains the wrong front frame rail extensions. Also the front spring purches contain the anti sqeek pads a nono on concours. minus a few points their. Its got the wrong floor pan plug screws as well Congradulations on the Big Sale
