Isn't that Twilight Turquoise?

Could be...I wish there was a shot of the data plate. I think they could have done better on the exhaust system...

  • No question a beautiful car.

I'm curious though, export brace but no convertible braces. My car built in May'65 has convertible braces. I always assumed they were original. When were convertible braces 1st introduced?

My other question is can you, or would you even want to have convertible braces with an export brace?

    Thanks, Steve

  • The convertible braces started into production in November 1964. There is a TSB that notes their necessity due to owner complaints regarding cowl shake at highway speeds.

  • Yeah, it isn't all concourse. Who in this forum would NOT like to have it anyway, since it is still clean and good looking? It's like saying you wouldn't want Pamela Anderson because she is 40-ish and has a few parts she wasn't originally built with (and non-original painjob).

Imagine if it was perfect: You couldn't drive it, but you could talk about it on the "Concourse Hipo Mustang Ekschange".

  • How much you want to bet the seller thinks the car is done to concours level? With all those jazzy paint marks and other detailing, someone was attempting to do something right.

The only difference between that car and a concours trailered car is a good weekend with some friends and an MCA rulebook.

  • Overall that looks like a pretty nice car. There's a couple of goofy looking things, like the wrong horns and the D/S fender has been replaced, but it looks nice in the pictures. The P/S valve cover looks like a later year model piece while the D/S looks like the correct one.I wonder what's up with that?It could just be some camera weirdness making it look like that. The vin stamping looks like it wandered a little too far rearward.I think I'd want to see that from the bottom side. The car probably got smacked at some point on the D/S and the body shop had to restamp that panel.Overall though,it looks very presentable.
