Hello fellow HPMX'ers. I have 3 or 4 relatively good, color pictures of my Antique Bronze 66 K code fastback taken in 1966 shortly after the original owner bought it. I would be happy to post these except it seems insanely difficult to do so on this site. If anyone is interested I can send you the pictures with my permission to post them. My car was purchased March 15, 1966 and the original owner tells me these shots were taken in May of 1966 as he made his way through the Canadian Rockies. This is a Dearborn, factory ordered car, that went from Ontario, Canada to British Columbia, Canada during that trip. These are the tires it came with. I have heard that the color of these wheels was "Sahara Beige" is the true?? rburton1961@hotmail.com

Nice ET, do you know if the original owner made any changes to the engine for drag racing?
-
Mad4HiPos;
Yes I know exactly what he did,
1. Balanced and blue printed the engine,
2. 4.11's rearend,
3. tilted the track at a 45 degree downward angle.
The car is a factory 4 speed, 3.50 standard differential. It has very few options as it was ordered as a race car. If you notice, the radio antennae is mounted on the rear of the car. A radio was an after thought so the dealer stuck the antennae on the rear deck. It has 2 speed wipers, obviously the engine and transmission package, disc brakes, a rally pac, an accent strip and a heavy duty battery. This is a non GT car. I have no idea why he did not choose a non slip differential, however the original owner is a highly respected race car driver and Ford engine builder. This was his first car. I was 5 years old when these pictures were taken. I haven't changed much since then.

In some of the pictures, it looks like there are stock steel wheels and then later maybe the same wheels painted silver? In another picture there is a mag-style wheel.
I'm guessing the car came with wheel covers when new.

The last 3 pictures are of the car in May of 1966. The original owner had purchased the car on March 15 of 1966 and had done nothing to it at that time. He claims thats how it came from the factory, I spoke with him yesterday about it, he's alive and well and 67.

Looking closer, they appear to be plain wheels painted silver. Maybe they are 15" Shelby wheels with blue dots?
-
I asked him if they were 15's or 14's, he cannot recall. He knows for sure that the tires were not blue dots though. To complicate things and to further confuse me, I was moving a set of 4 14'' rims that the car came with, (they in the trunk for 'years' I am told), when I noticed a little silver peaking out. Of course being the obsessive person that I am I scraped it off. Guess what? All of those wheels have this sort of wierd colored silver paint on them. The original owner never painted them silver, none of ALL of the owners painted them silver and I have talked to them ALL. However one owner thinks he painted a silver set black and used them for snow tires. Egaads.
So, once again I am left with more questions than answers, as usual. I know one thing...I am going to have those rims blasted or walnutted or whatever they do to those things and then they are going to be epoxy painted the same silver color because I love that old race car look. The other 4 rims are going to be black and wearing spinner hubcaps. I just found a set of 5 matching, 14 X 6.95 dual Redline Silvertown bias ply's for sale and sold to me for $325...never used except for showing. Safety 1st right?

Great pictures! Love the drag racing photos!

Thanks! The original owner is a real stand up guy, you live in BC so you have probably heard of him, his first name is Jack and the last name begins with an M. He raced alot at Mission in this car and later with other vehicles.
