I'm looking forward to updates also.
I would love to see some of the vintage pictures when you have a chance to post.

Looking good!
Does VM have any plans to find a way to reproduce the early square corner step plates?
Thanks.
The current manufacturer and I actually did look into this. The current tooling does not allow just a modification in order to make these as we thought it may. There is just not enough material on the other step plates to make the square ends.
At this time, new tooling just did not work out to be economically feasible.

Guys,
Sorry it took me so long to reply and post your pictures.
Anyway, thanks to Scott and Chuck, we have some examples of June '64 production cars.
Here is Chuck's picture. This is a June '64 production car. As you can see, it has the "typical" dual exhaust brake hose bracket and the regular bracket typically found on single exhaust cars. It should also be noted that the dual exhaust bracket is stick welded rather than the typically seen spot welding.
Scott's June '64 car also has the typical dual exhaust brake hose bracket but not the other bracket. His bracket looks like it is at least partially held on by a screw/not sure how or if it is welded.
Of course, as stated in my original post, my Aug. '64 Dearborn convertible has just the single exhaust brake hose bracket and not the other bracket. Fred also mentions the '66 Dearborn car with both brackets, so obviously this may have been a "hit or miss" type of thing.
Thanks to everyone for their help (and digging up this old post!)

Thanks Brant. The article was published some years ago. I'm still driving it to national shows and having a ball doing so. Their is no sound like the sound of a flat tappet solid lifter motor as it revs. Let it rip.
Heck, they have it dated May 5, 2011. I guess they are trying to get some more "mileage" out of it. Oh well, I liked it, and it is the first time I saw it.

Check out the article in the Washington Times about Richard Porter and his K Fastback.
We re-posted it on our blog with some additional images.
Richard is a great guy and certainly an asset to our Mustang hobby.

More pictures of our Poppy Red HiPo Mustang Convertible were posted on our Blog today.

Troy,
I think the Scott Drake ones we have will stay together with no problem. Just don't buy any NOS Ford ones. They used to come apart like that on me all of the time.

The front sheet metal is on the HiPo Mustang Convertible! Check out the Blog post for several more images.

Here is a Blog post I did a while back about the main difference between the 65 GT/Pony and the 66 clusters:

Of course, you probably have the 65 GT type on your car, Jay

I just made a Blog post with several pictures on uncovering some drive shaft paint markings on a '66 GT350 that I thought I would share.

I also notice it has a 4 insted of a 6 in the circle.
Just a guess...maybe a set up with several stamps being done and each one was numbered. Kind of like the mold cavities on the HiPo Fan spacers. You will see different numbers cast into these. Again, this is just speculation on my part.

I have an original that did not have a date stamping.

i looked at your picture to the H-pipe set up
and the Z-bar with the rod to the clutch lever.
i don't see a return spring tho.
how do you keep the clutch release lever
pulled forward?

Parts are still being added. It's just not there yet in these particular pictures. I don't think the fan shroud was on when these pictures were taken either.

I just posted another update on our Blog. The HiPo Convertible will be ready to fire up soon.

There appears to be two styles of driveshafts used throughout the 64-66 production. The earlier HiPo's used the style with an outside snap ring.
In very late '65 production (?) (April-June '65 ???-at San Jose, at least), there appears to have been a change to an inside snap ring style like this:
I am interested in hearing from owners here as to which one is in your particular car. Please provide approx. build date, plant, if you think it is original to your car, and casting number on front yoke if possible.
I'm particularly interested in that production time between around April '65 and June '65. Thanks.
