Original 65 GT350 9" bare housing with something attached inside that reminds me of an oil scraper. Mounted to the inside by 2 of the carrier studs, it is a piece of folded steel that could be used to oil what? never seen or heard of anything like it. It is well made, not likely a home made piece. I am no good at posting pics but I have 2 that I could email to someone who is for posting. These were locker units. Anyone know what the heck this is? Goldy
What is the piece I found?

Hi, without seeing a picture my guess would be it is an oil slinger for a LSD centre. Which is fitted inside the housing up the top.
Hope this helps Zed

Yes, it is at the top. What is an LSD centre?

Limited Slip Differential in the carrier

Is this a Ford part? I've had plenty of limiteds apart and so have my buddies here and none of us has ever seen this before. Maybe we are just deprived......

I have had these in a couple of rear ends that I have had. I currently have one in an early 66 9 inch Mustang housing. It is a Ford part number of B9A 4159 A which is listed as a lubricator and applies to locking axles only.
