under ride traction bars

  • I am thinking about installing a set, but was wondering how much, if any, do they adversely change the ride. With N.E. Ohio roads, that are mostly pot holes or piles of repair patch that over fill the hole, I don't want to aggravate the situation.

  • I found they did tighten up the rear a bit. While I did not notice any changes in the straight up/down movement (pot holes), the cornering characteristics were diferent. I have a rear sway bar and had to change out the hard bushings for plain rubber bushings to retain the handling set up I liked. I have the Koni's, but did not want to change the settings on them. Of course I also have a custom front sway bar as well, with the hard bushings. The factory sway bar looks so tiny compared with what I run. Back in the day I had a buddy who worked at Addco and it was right down the road, so I got to stand by and watch him bend up my bar..cool.

I say get the under rides if you need to tighten up the rear leaf springs...otherwise, get a good set of shocks and call it a day.

  • Does anyone over there make a set of shocks that can be adjusted ON the car? As only 1 company does them in the UK and they are not known for their quality thanks

  • Thanks for the input. I am not going to road race the car so I don't think I will ever notice a change in the handlig area. These will be more just for the look, and the once in a while spirited launch.<img src=images/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

  • My 67 Shelby had the traction masters when I bought it

in 1977 so I can't compare the handling but they sure

have an appeal and the reason for a lot of discussions

    with people. Put them on!
