i went to see a 64 1/2 K for sale today. it had drum brakes all around, i thought all K codes came with front disc ? was this unique to 64 1/2 Kars that disc was an option rather than standard equipment ?
thanks-

The early hipo's came with drum brakes all round, disc's came later, as an option. anyone else? Dates of offering discs?<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
thanks for the info guys, the kar i saw today was built July 30,64. it would be interesting to find out what the earliest build date is for a mustang with factory disc brakes. i may post this question in the vintage-mustang forum to see how early the dates are.

My October 21,1964 Dearborn Kar has factory disc brakes. A $58.00 option!

The key word here is option. I remember a local 66 non GT K car, back when these cars were new, with drums all around.
