Collector Quality, Matching Numbers Car Treated to a Bare Metal Restoration from Ground Up
Here is your chance to own a very rare Real 1965 "K" Code Mustang fastback with Original Motor, Trans and Rear End.
History:
Four (4) owner California car built in San Jose, Los Angeles delivered just like the Shelby Mustangs. Treated to a comprehensive ground up restoration by the third owner in 1983, driven only 5,000 since, with a total of 84,700 miles in 44 years. The car is 100% rust free California car and has all its original sheet metal except for front quarters, driver door and gas tank. Bare metal repaint in its factory color remains extremely nice. The car retains its original glass front and rear, original seats (fronts recovered), dash, wheel. New carpet, side glass, gauge package, Hurst shifter, seat belts. Underside is outstanding, orginal pans, rear quarters are absolutely rust free, no bondo anywhere on this car.
Rarity:
Of the 559,451 Mustangs produced in 1965, only 5,975 of those were "K" Code mustangs of all body types (coupes, fastbacks & convertibles). While the exact number of Fastback K Codes is unknown, approximately 30% of all factory Mustangs were fastbacks. Shelby commissioned 562 of the 1965 K Code fastbacks to become GT 350's, leaving approximately 1,000 or so K Code Fastbacks. Most K Codes have long since lost their original motors to poachers over the years, so matching number engine cars are very hard to come by. This is one of those cars.

This car could easily be converted to absolutely factory correct car if desired. I chose to maintain the potent sleeper appearance that prior restoring owner sought to achieve.
I have three classic muscle cars and must sell one to make room in storage. This is a serious, pedigreed muscle car that is ready to drive and show. It is an absolute blast to drive, fast and nimble at a fraction of the cost of a Shelby. Matching number K Code Fastbacks are very hard to come by (took me 2 years to find this one), so if you are a serious Mustang collector, you will not be dissappointed. Please view all pictures and let me know if you need any others taken.
I reserve the right to end this auction early as the car is featured locally and nationally. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will assist in any inspections prior to auction end or shipping.
Non-refundable $5,000 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end with balance due within 5 calendar days thereafter.
Any foreign buyers must call me first before bidding. Please do not bid unless you intend to buy.
