    By Seller:"texas muscle cars"

    In McKinney, TX

    Listing Info:

Are you ready for this one? The K-Code Mustang was built between 1965-1967. It came from the factory with a special 289 High Performance cubic inch engine beneath its hood. People often ask how the K-Code engine was different from the others featured in the 65 to 67 Mustangs. Well think PERFORMANCE. For starters this engine featured upgraded pistons, cylinder heads, carburetor, lifter heads, and connecting rods. In addition, one look under the hood and you'd notice the chrome air cleaner and valve covers.

But wait, there's more. The differences didn't stop there. In fact, the entire driveline of these cars was designed for performance. We're talking about a high-performance clutch, drive shaft, rear differential, and suspension. These days, collectors of the Ford Mustang look back fondly on the K-Code. As such, they are highly sought after. Unfortunately only a limited number of these engines were produced between 1963 to 1967, and even fewer K-Code Mustangs. If you own one, you own a valued piece of history. Well, you can now be the official owner of a piece of history.

This 1965 Real K-Code Mustang has had a Rotisserie Restoration. It was a California Car with no Rust. The Original Data Plate is still on the car and reads as follows:

Body-65A (2 Door Hardtop, Standard Interior)

    Color-7 (Phoenician Yellow)

Trim-26 (Black Crinkle Vinyl, Standard Interior)

    Date-24J (September 24, 1964)

    DSO-72 (San Jose)

    Axle-8 (3.89:1, conventional)

    Trans-5 (4-Speed Manual)

Upon request, we will send you a photo of the VIN that is located on the door and on the fender.

On the Exterior, you will find the Factory Correct Phoenician Yellow, Red Line Tires, Chrome Front and Rear Bumpers, Chrome L/H Outside Mirror, Chrome Window Trim, Color Coded Roof Rail Drip, Vent Windows, Outside Radio Antenna.

Moving on to the Interior, you will find the Factory Correct Black Crinkle Vinyl Interior, Bucket Seats, Floor Shift, Rally Pac Gauges which include the Tachometer and Clock, Pushbutton Radio, Armrests, Padded Sunvisors, Defrost, Padded Door Panels with Chrome Trim, and Chrome Trim on the Dash.

Mechanically, this car was built from the Factory for Performance. It has the 289 K-Code HiPo Engine, 4 Speed Manual Transmission, 3.89:1 Conventional Rear Axle.

This car speaks for itself in quality. This K-Code is Absolutely Stunning. The Photos do not do this car justice.

Could be I saw Rick Prince, the owner of Texas Muscle Cars, bidding on the Boss 302 that sold for $120K. Last time I talked to him, he was looking to get more Mustangs.

  • For what it's worth, it would sure be nice if it had a correct battery. <img src=images/icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=images/icon_smile_8ball.gif border=0 align=middle>

And it has an AC Delco battery none the less!! The correct repop Autolite would finish it off nicely for another $200. 45k for a coupe (no matter how nice it is)in this economy sure is shooting pretty high.
