<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>1964 1/2 "K" Code Mustang! 400 + hp! Built 289 Hi-po!
Here is a mostly restored early 1965 Mustang, commonly refered to as the 1964 1/2. It is an original 289, "K" code hi-po V-8 with the toploader 4 speed and 9 inch Traction-Lok rear end. As best that I can determine, this a matching number car as far as the drivetrain is concerned. My research tells me that only 104 total "K" code 1964 1/2 Mustangs were built, 76 hardtops and 28 convertibles, so this is a fairly rare Mustang. If the current trend of rare, restored, factory high performance automobiles continues on it's upward spiral, this car could easily be worth $40-50K when fully restored. The reserve is reasonably set at about half of that amount. The color has been changed from it's original Gold color to Black. Please be aware that I am selling this car for a friend, so it is not mine. I am not a Mustang expert, but I am fairly knowledgeable on Muscle Cars in general. I am; however, an Oldsmobile expert!!
The body is straight and rust-free. There is some bubbling present in the bottoms of the doors, quarters and rockers. You just about have to be on your hand and knees to see it. It is very minor, and for a driver, I personally would not address the issue. I just want to make any prospective buyer aware of it.
The floors, trunk and torque tubes are about as nice as you will find. I don't know if they were previouly replaced, but the bottom of the car looks very nice. The paint is decent, but I would wet-sand and buff it to make it real nice.
The interior is original, except for the Digital dash that has been added and an aftermarket Alpine sound system. There is a huge Memphis Boom Box in the trunk and a set of 6X9's in the package tray, if you are into that sort of thing. It makes a lot of noise, I suppose to drown out the engine!
Now, on to the engine! It is freshly rebuilt, .030 over, and has a complete Holley Avenger Street set-up. It has aluminum heads, Street Dominator intake, 670 cfm double pumper, Avenger cam similar to stock hi-po specs, and Hooker equal lenght stainless headers. I'm not sure what brand of mufflers are on it, but it sure sounds sweet, thumping along with solid-lifters and and a high-lift cam!
It also has 16 inch front and 17 inch rear polished American Torque Thrust II's and new hi-tech tires, so it hooks-up and handles well to take on the horsepower. The transmisson and rear end are also freshly rebuilt.
The interior needs some freshening. Included with the sale is a new headliner, front door panels, sunvisors with brackets, and interior door handles, all in the box. You also get the original generator and brackets, dash gauge cluster and steering wheel. The original heads are long gone, so I can't help you there. Also, the only identification marks on the car that I can find is what you see stamped into the left inner fender. The door Data Plate is missing.
Please understand that there is NO title for this car! Georgia is a non-title state for all cars over 18 years old. The car will be sold with a current registration and Bill of Sale only. It should not be a problem with states that do require a title, but check with your state prior to bidding. Title problems will not be considered an excuse not to complete the transaction!!
