Can anyone please let me know the dimensions of the original valve springs? Outer diameter and Inner diameter. Have some springs that I'm not sure about. Thanks in advance for any info.

The outer diameter is 1.438. The inner diameter is 1.016 without measuring the inner damper spring. With the inner damper spring it is .952.

Thanks Fred. Just what I needed to check.

To be sure you have HiPo springs you should measure the free
standing height as well. If I don't recall wrong it shall be
2.02" and 1.77" installed.

The freestanding dimension on my NOS springs is 2.068. They are also red in color. It is probable that used ones will be shorter.

I checked and the book how to rebuild your small-block Ford
says in a table: Free length 2.02" and installed height 1.77".
Sorry, but maybe the information is wrong. I know the load specified
in the book says 83-89 lbs and I have written 93 as the higher value
myself.
Have some NOS but they are the C9 type and the originals should be C3
correct?

I went to my garage and found the box with NOS springs
and the text says: Valve Damper Spring
C3OZ-6513-A
1 PKG of 8 PCS.
Measured the red marked springs and to me it looks like they are
2.04". Checked the 65 and 66 Shop Manuals and it specifies
a Free Length of 2.04" for the 289 High Performance Engine.

I have well over 200 of the C3OZ 6513 A NOS valve springs and I rechecked more of them. I originally only checked the first one out of the box as I figured that they would all be the same. I have found a variance of from 2.040 to 2.068.
