I am waiting to receive my hi- po balancer back from the Damperdoctor and i am hoping that someone can tell me if i need an extra long fine thread balancer type bolt, so that i can get the balancer started, then go back to the proper bolt , or is the original bolt long enough to catch and draw it in? Also do you recommend lock tite on the thread's , Domenic R. Mamone

It should slide on to the point that you can catch a thread with the stock bolt. If you have to gently tap it into place suggest a wood block at the center of the hub to avoid damage to the rubber. You'll be happy with John's work - he does a great job.

You can also try warming the balancer up in some boiling water for 20 minutes or so to get a little bit of thermal expansion. It should slide on pretty easy that way. Just wear oven mits or something to protect your hands from burns. Works every time.

I had no trouble getting it started with the original bolt at all.
