Dave, Great to hear!!! Please let me know how the rear end/package rode?? I kind of think Roadway/Yellow takes better care of its business customers and it sure didn't hurt that Vicki's friend in receiving put all the stickers all over it.
Please tell everyone how the all important rear looks to you....
hi rick
still haven't unpacked it!
just got back from oshkosh with my kids
will unwrap and take pics in am
stay tuned!!!!
dave
Glad to hear that you all had a good trip!! as long as the packaging wasn't disturbed I feel confident that it made the trip ok-I was a bit concerned about the 2 inner-most bands being broken by a pallet jack-don't forget the breather hose and shock plates in the small box.
you did such a good job wrapping it
and i won't be needing it for quite a while
i hate to open it up
....but i'd better inspect it!
dave
not a flaw anywhere i could see!

dave
how does one decide how many teeth
should be in the balanced flywheel?
iowa
The original flywheels had 160 teeth and the replacement flywheels and ring gears have 157 teeth.
-Fred-
so it would be a matter of finding the
appropriate starter with the right # of teeth also?
iowa
Ford changed the number of flywheel teeth as they felt that the pitch with less teeth on the flywheel matched the starter better. The flywheel teeth were found to have a longer life with less of them. That would effectively make each tooth just slightly thicker as well. The starters were not changed.

the same starter will work on
either the 157 or 160 tooth flywheel?
iowa
Yes Dave, the starters are the same as Ford did not change them.
-Fred-
the teeth will mesh properly
even tho the # is different?
