I have tried to locate an original HiPo water pump for my Kar with no luck. What is the next best option. This is all that is left in the engine rebuilt.
Suggestions please.

do you want a pump that looks like the Hi-Po pump, or one that pumps like the Hi-Po pump ? There are many "button top" pumps that are indistinguishable once installed from the real Hi-Po pump. Or you can buy a Carter fuel pump, They make two or three pumps for the small block Ford that will out perform the stock Hi-Po pump.

Thanks for the reply. I don't plan to run the kar hard therefore I guess one the "looks" correct would be fine. You stated a Carter Fuel pump in your reply, did you mean water pump since that is the item in question.
The only difference between a HiPo pump and standard 289 pump is the impeller, the housing is the same.
What year car? While not plentiful, the correct casting number pump housings, whether aluminum or cast iron, are out there. Even one of the major auto supply stores may have what you want if you look hard enough. I would suggest finding a correct casting number pump for your engine, since that is the visible part, and try to find a HiPo impeller to install later if that's important.
Russell, I just sent you a PM on your Hipo water pump.
