Rick, I do not have their catalog in hand but I looked it up on their website. Their number SU551 is not the correct one. If they have a shorter threaded one, that would be what you need.

Fred, I am looking at the catalog again and I see the one I believe you are talking about-its #SU552, listed for '65-'73 "Use with all rear brake hoses execpt BK-111" now I'll have to see what rear brake hose #BK-111 is Rick
UPDATE: Their BK-111 hose IS for 6cyl & 289 2v & SINGLE EXHAUST 4v, and I am using their BK-112 that indicates '65-'66 289 HIPO some 289 4v with factory dual exhaust.Rick

The HiPo - or any factory DUAL EXHAUST GT - takes the shorter vent fitting - because the hose has a bracket that holds the "block" for the lines in front of the axle tube.
The single exhaust cars use a longer vent fitting - that goes thru a hole in the line block - with the block being on TOP of the axle tube - the fitting actually keeps the block in place.
It helps that I have 2 cars - one K code dual and one A code single exhaust - so I have seen both versions. Plus I changed this myself when my '66 A code became a dual exhaust car and I used the dual exhaust rear hose.

The 64-66 dual exhaust vent tube is the same as the standard 67-73 version, readily available.

Thanks Jim!!!! I guess this "HIPO" part is one that is reasonably priced due to it being used in many other Mustang applications....
