'65 GT Amp guage??

My newly restored 1965 K GT's amp guage is reading backwards.....does anyone know how to fix/wire these unique 1965 guages properly?

Believe you just have to reverse how the wire passes through the loop on the back of the ammeter.

The ammeter should show your battery is being charged (right after starting for example) by the needle 'bouncing' to the right. If it moves to the left, try reversing the heavy gauge black/yellow wire that goes thru the pickup loop at the rear of the meter. That would be the theory.

was it reading the correct way before it was "newly restored" ?

Guys, Thanks!! I thought it was just a simple reversal of wires.

this guage was NOS Ford unit when installed, the old one I never saw work as the car had sat outside for many many years and rusted pretty bad before the restoration-I never drove the car before.
