advise on fender aprons

I have 2 fender aprons gone beyond repair. Would it be best to replace them and leave no vin stamping, or find a stamping company to repunch them. Has anyone ran into this? Im thinking of just replacing them and keeping the vin part of the original aprons with the car. Any thoughts?

Whatever you decide to do it is important, in my eyes, that you keep the original pieces with the car.
