Install on the motor mount to engine bolts. The 'P' points down.
Thanks caspian65, but that does not look like a HIPO....
The motor mount brackets are different and the cable bracket hits the mount and does not let it extend straight out... I need a pic like that of a K kar..
The cable brackets don't extend straight out with the hipos, they end up offset by a couple of degrees to the front or rear because of the mounts.

Nice picture of the 65 convertible undercarriage. I added it to my show and tell section.
As to the starter cable brackets, I just got back from doing the eyeball research on my Oct 65 San Jose build 1966 HP Fastback. It uses the 65 type brackets. The front bracket is installed between the bolt head and the bracket and is angled slightly forward. I can't see the rear as the right side of the car is against the garage wall but I would assume it's angled to the rear.

For point of reference, the undercarriage pic is of a '65 GT convertible, A code, built at Dearborn in late May '65.
If you've got several hours to burn, there's hundreds of pics of that car here: http://www.early-mustang.com/charles/vert/
I sold it at Russo & Steele in Jan '06, the car currently resides in a collection near LA.
Thank You to all for the replies......
Very nice work on 'Vert... and Thanks for the link.... that's better than anything on TV<img src=images/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
There's a pic of a motor on this website that shows 2 brackets installed. When I took my car apart, it only had one bracket on the forward side of the mount. Should there be 1 or 2 brackets?

I've usually seen 2 wiring brackets used, but I'm sure some slipped through with 1.
MTS ... Thanks for the post... that is exactly what I wanted to see....
