Thought I would share a couple of pics after removing the original waterpump with six blade impellers. Hard to believe that it lasted almost 43 years!

It probably didn't actually last that long. The "6 blade impeller" shown is typically found on pumps rebuilt by aftermarket sources. Hold onto that C5OE housing. They're the rarest of the iron pumps, and were quickly superceeded with a "C6" version.
Here's a couple of pictures of an NOS "C5OE" cast iron HiPo pump that shows an original disc-shaped impeller with the 3 captivation holes and 6 curved blades (not visible) on the other side.

Thanks for the clarification and the great pics. I could not understand how a waterpump could last that long. I purchased the car from the original owner with original drive train etc. I guess he had the pump rebuilt somewhere along the way.
Has anyone here rebuilt their own water pump? Other than cleaning, what could be so hard about pressing in a new seal and bearing? Need a special fixture? I have a dozen or so early pumps.
I think Fred (C6ZZKGT) has done this?? I just bought a beutiful pump from him.
