Sorry for the cryptic response. I mean there is no performance advantage to using a Hi-Po pump on a stock, non K code, 289.
Better, IMHO, to sell it. or store it for the day when you can use it on a genuine Hi-Po engine.

If the regular 289 is a built motor that can rev like a K motor, you might be better off with a K-style fuel pump.

I was taking "regular 289" as meaning a stock A or C code, but there isn't much detail from the OP to go on.

A hipo pump is an expensive item. You can get reliabile fuel delivery to a non-hipo motor through other means at a lower cost.
He is probably talking about the NAPA fuel pump that is listed for the hipo.
