• Based on the VIN, the production date of this Kar will be very early in March of 1965. I would tend to believe that it is not a factory GT, especially since it has drum brakes. It also has pony seats and dash with standard door and kick panels. It has a lot of mixed items like the 66 grille and fog light setup.

  • Threads like this bring home the " wheat from the chaff " notion as it applies to our Mustangs. A car that has the right color paint on the engine, properly located switches, etc., can all be done to a car without the right serial number....Therefore, a knowledgeable inspection will be the best defense against fraud.....maybe the ONLY defense....

Consider all the Kars that have been reviewed on this site, and you get the picture.

perhaps members could offer occasional notices in the usual publications, i.e., Hemmings, Collector Car, etc., financially supported by, say, a separate fund, as a public service for our particular K mark. This could dramatically increase the legitimacy and value of the K series, that have been inspected and notorized by the inspector..

I for one would pony up some bucks to get this notice in the HMN. <img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
