1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback HIPO K-code true GT.

Original paint, red deluxe interior (should be black).

    VIN Number - 5T09K163730 -

I recently purhcased this amazing ride but unfortunately life events (another child on the way) has prompted me to put it up on the market again.

What I know about it: I purchased it from a fellow in Detroit who had in turn purchased it from some Corvette guys that had done a poor job restoring it. I had it worked on by Mustangs Only and they replaced the fiberglass, cut out the rust, re-painted it and converted the interior to Red.

The only thing that it needs work on now is the fuel gauge. I had the guages worked on recently and I think they just forgot to hook it up (was working before). Also, I've elected not to re-install the console as it's easier to shift without it. It will come with the car.

    Recent work

Body resoration (cut out rust, replaced floorpans) (Pictures)

Repaint (original paint code Silver Smoke Grey)

Interior restoration (to Deluxe red Pony interior)

    Stereo installation (in glove box)

    4-row radiator installed

    New rear end

    New 2nd gear

    New drive shaft

New carb from Pony Carbs (Autolite 4100 w/ HIPO Conversion)

    Lo-Jack system (no alarm)

Note: The previous owner installed speakers in the rear trunk divider.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

  • First listing bid to $30,099

    Second listing bid to $27,600

An interesting note is that the bidders for the first and second listings were completely different.

  • I don't like relisting cars right away...they tend to go stale. I have also found you do get get different people bidding. Ebay is a vast resource of buyers.

  • For sale again $45K USD

Car looks fantastic. Opinions on price and the car (wrong colour interior) would be a great help to a friend who is very interested. IMHO, I think the car is over priced, but I really have no clue what the market is in the US at the moment.

    Thanks.

    I agree Rene....

Looking at all the prices over the last 12 months this car in my view would be worth tops mid 30's

As you said the interior change is an issue as well as the fact the VIN on the block can not be located....even though it might be the original block and the fact that some cars from Metchuen apparently were not stamped ... i feel that a car with the number stamped on the block is more desirable than one like this ...even though both might be original
