64.5 Generator Question - need help

  • What are the identifying numbers and location(s) of casting numbers, date codes etc. for a correct generator?

The HP Mustang Fourth Edition details the casting #s for a generator pully, but fails to provide identifers for the generator.

I have found several markings on my generator and would like to confirm that it is correct. I have failed to identify any discernable date code.

This is what I have found on the case - Ford stamp, FBC-10125-A, I also found the following stamped numbers on the back side of the brackets - FAB10139, an upside down 4, an 8, GFA and a B on one side and a 24 on the other side.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks Bob

My car has a Generator Pulley # C3OF-10130-B, which is correct according to the HP Mustang 4th Edition. So would it be correct to state that the Generator must also have C3OF-10130-B on it to be correct?

As referenced above my Generator has varous numbers on it and the flange/hangers but none are identical to the pulley number.

Can you tell me exactly where these numbers should be located on the generator?

    Thanks

  • The generator number was specific to the installed pulley. A C3OF-10000-B generator number would have come with the C3OF-10130-B pulley. There were two styles of pulleys used in 1963 and 1964. One was stamped C3OF-10130-B and the other C3OF-B.

Stamp placement varies, but the attached PDF file will help you place it in the right area. Also, the included graphic is an accuracy redition of the stamping.
