The other dates on the block are 4G7 and the heads are both dated 4G9 and the intake has date code 4H23. Does anyone else have such a cazy span of dates on their car. • Its a dearborn car,or do i hope this normal for cast date codes. I have the understanding that there was a union strike in late 64 would this explane the spread in the date codes?

  • It was at the ford assembly plant from what i understand. The Auto Workers Union i think is the one that called the strike. You might be able to find something on it on line with one of the newspapers in the area at the time.

Some manufacturing plants continued production, despite assembly line shut downs. So did Ford's steel plants in sub- urban Dearborn. ...

  • Thanks for finding that info, this may explain for some of the gaps in date codes and build dates on these cars. I wonder when it started and how long the stike went on for and how many cars just sat on the line unfinished. The strike must have screwed up a lot of things.
