What would be the correct main case & tail casting numbers for a may 1966 built shelby gt350 cast iron borg warner 4 speed.

My original cast iron close ratio T-10 has a March 1, 1966 assembly date. Best guess is the car had a scheduled San Jose build date of March 29. It was shipped from Shelby American to Hi-Performance Motors on May 9.

The casting numbers on the main case are:

T10 H-1

W.G. Div.

W-1

Rear case numbers are:

T10 H-7B

W.G. Div.

K 23 65

what is your shelby serial number?

many '66 GT-350's, such as mine, #6s1117, came with an aluminum main case & a cast iron tail shaft.

My car is 6S1757. I believe there was a general trend in 66 from aluminum/aluminum to aluminum/iron like yours and then iron/iron like mine. Some 65's, possibly even 5S003, had case mixtures as well.
