CYLINDER HEAD RESURFACE

Is there a resurface reference spec for a 289 cylinder head for how much can be removed , is the foot mark on the ends of the heads the reference mark to go by. does anyone have a depth measurment of the foot mark from a standard or HI-po head that has never been resurfaced, thanks. chuck.

I have an NOS C5OE 4M17 head and the foot is .055 deep.
