Correct Intake Casting for 1965 C5 or C6

  • Hi, looking for May 1965 4V intake with C5 casting.

Could a C6 casting 4V intake work? I saw one dated May 65 but it seems strange that it would be correct for 65 year.

Don't have Bob Mannel book to reference it. Even so, would it technically be wrong to be casted C6 for 65 model year.

    Let me know, Wallace

  • Bob Mannell's book documents this topic well.

The change over between the C5 to C6 manifolds occured sometime during early May 65.

What is truly interesting is that the late 65 model year cars and the 66 model year cars BOTH use the C6 manifold.

  • I had a C5AE-M casting on my 1966 September 65 Metucheon built Hipo convertible and it was defintely original.

Would need to know the date casting to verify.
