I think if you are striving for the original look for show judging the reproduction battery from Antique Battery in Ohio is the one to use....its the 24F series unit and can be had in the form or the original lead/acid or one with an Optima battery inside the case-this is the one that I would recomend so there will not be a chance of leakage.
Just a reminder though: The one with the Optima inside ABSOLUTELY CANNOT be jump started with anouther vehicle or a jump box as doing so will destroy it and they will not warranty it-it says so in the paperwork that comes with it but you really have to look for it...
What do they say about tendering that battery?
Perfectly fine to use a tender on the Optima ones-I have a tender on mine in the Mustang and 1 on my Wife's '57 Chevy Belair.
Thanks for that,
My main concern was that I had a battery with the right CCA, which I've managed to do.
Thanks again.
Please tell us what exactly did you buy, and where, price, etc..Thanks<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
We bought one direct from AAB for our '57 Chevy, and my restorer picked one up in Hudson, Ohio for my Kar.....the sealed ones with the Optima inside are about $300. shipped here is a link to their site:
