Engine Vibration When Cold

  • When I start my Kar after it has been sitting for a few days I'm getting a vibration which I can feel in the clutch pedal and I can hear when I open the hood. After the car is in a fast idle the vibration goes away and I do not see or feel any difference in the performance of the car when I'm driving.

Anyone have any thoughts... Thanks in Advance.

  • this is one of those things that will drive you crazy tracking down. I'm split 50/50 on carb or ignition. Check the easily checked items first. Fouled plugs comes to mind as number #1. If they are fouled, why are they fouled? Do you get to really get the motor good & hot when you drive? How long are you driving it ? What are your driving habits ? Can you really wring it out a few times each outing ?

Ignition: bad plug wire, fires intermittently. Could you have a crack in the distributor or moisture under the cap, clears up when motor is warm.

good luck, and keep us posted.
