Who do you consider makes a good modern replacement for the 1.78" intake and 1.60" exhaust valves? From what I can find, it appears only Sealed Power and Fed Mogul make the 1.78" intake valves. Manley make a 1.78" but only for rail type rockers so no good. There are plenty more options if increasing the intake valve diameter, but that's moving away from what's original.

Well, I believe the original exhaust valves were

1.45" in diameter and not 1.60" as you specified.

Normal porting jobs with larger valves went to

1.88-1.90" on the intake and 1.60" on the exhaust.

In the latter case I know many used Chevy valves.

Windsor heads had 1.82 intake and 1.56 exhaust, a few thousanths smaller than Chevy, still Ford, and leaving a little more to cut, in the future, when these heads are even rarer.
