8" rear gear question??

    I have a set of 3.50.1 ring and pinion gears that I believe are from an 8" rear but don't have a 9" set here to compair....question is what should the ring gear measure and is it inside or outside measurement?? Thanks!!

    The 9" refers to the outer diameter on the ring gear. Some of the early 9" gears actually measure 8 3/4".
