Radiator question

  • I have a 64.5 Dearborn K 4 speed. Stamped on my radiator's driver side mounting flange is:

"DEP C4ZE 8005-G14DD. Can anyone decipher? I have no reasons not to believe that it is the original radiator. It needs to be re-cored, but not sure if it can be re-cored, and I just wanted to confirm that it is original before I begin.

What is the the prefered method of restoration if it cannot be re-cored?

    Thanks, Bob

  • I've had three of my 65-66 V8 radiators re-cored to three row with no problems. I also recomended a friend to go to the same shop with his 1967 289 'A' code and get a three row re-core as well. Three row types look similar to two row stock radiators enough so they will pass an MCA judge's eyeball.

  • You do have an original radiator - DEP is the company who made them for Ford (not sure what the exact name was)....maybe Detroit E(something) Products????

    C4ZE 8005-G1 Ford engineering number

    4DD - 1964 4th month 4th week

    I recently purchased a C4ZE 8005-G1 5BD for my April '65 K 2+2.

As long as the tanks and sides are in good shape re-coring can be done by any good radiator shop.
