Does anybody know for sure what the numbers
with white grease markers on the front side frame
rails means (stands for)? The HiPo book says
"Front Frame Rail, Drivers Side" Outside behind
wheel, unit number and shift in white grease
pencil, ex. "23B" indicates 23rd unit on the
second shift. However, I looked in various magazines
from 1965 like August Hot Rod and the number on
that place on that Shelby looks like "311". In another magazine
they show the passenger side and it looks like "31" with
the third number not visable. Probably the same car that
different magazines used for their tests.
Could this number be the unit number, i.e. the last three
digits in the Ford serial number.
Thanks for your help.
