I finally got to put some paint in my engine compartment. I spent 2 hours masking/papering the bay and car (It was breezy, but I took the risk) after work yesterday and about 45 minutes spraing engine paint.
I'm pleased to report that I'm very pleased with how the block turned out. I was worried about the 15 MPH breeze so I covered everything well to avoid overspray. The temp was 62 with only 20% humidity and with bad weather in the forecast for this weekend, I had to take a shot.
After testing the VHT paint I got from VA Mustang on an old can for color, I decided to go for it. The color is very good and looks correct to me. It matches the blue on the Air Cleaner base I have and really looks sharp. Nothing like the color on the lid of the can. The paint sprays well and covers very good. I was able to do 3 light coats with 1 full can. I was surprised I wouldn't need 2 cans to do this job. It looks awesome, with a great wet look. I'm real pumped now to get the rest of the bay done.
I also got my rebuilt harmonic balancer in the mail yesterday from Damper Doctor. Looks brand new!
