1965 Mustang Fastback K-code, $11,000 OBO

  • Hi all, I have decided to sell my mustang and thought this would be a good place to list it. Here is what I know:

    - Original K-Code 1965 Mustang Fastback, VIN: 5R09K220XXX

    - The door tag is missing, however the VIN is on the front apron

    - Non-original engine. Engine appears to be out of 1966 Mustang (non-hipo)

    - 4-Speed transmission installed, unsure if it is original to the car

    - Has correct tapered rear axle, unsure if it is original to the car

    - Light hit in the front, and a slight rub in the rear drivers quarter panel.

    - Extremely solid car otherwise, restoration has been started but I simply do not have the time to finish.

    - Aftermarket Shelby fiberglass hood that should be replaced

    - Hideous rims that should be replaced

I am not sure if it runs or not. I pulled a valve cover off the drivers side head, and there was a fair amount of sludge, so I imagine a rebuild is in order. It appears both rear quarters have been replaced, there are a few mud cracks in the rear passenger quarter. Otherwise, the car is extremely solid. What you see is what you get, there are no other parts.

  • I am a little surprised as it looks like the vin pictured was stamped by an amature with stamps that don't look anything like originals and there are no stars either.......

  • This is the real deal, if you look closer you'll see the star at the end of the VIN. Also, I took the bolts off and pulled the top of the passenger fender out a bit, and found the same VIN number. Additionally, it has the correct exhaust reinforcements in the back, and a clear title.

  • The stampings look right on to me, and I see the star just fine..<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

  • Just joined the forum to post this...

It seems as if the person you sold your fastback to is a 'flipper.'

While that's all fine and dandy it really irks me when they use the same photos the previous owner took.
