• I recomend you get a set of the Jim Osborn produced Mustang Assembly Manuals for your year car. Available for 1965 are: Body; Interior; Electrical; Engine: plus the 64 Weld/Sealant and Chassis manuals. To further decypher the Assembly Manuals you should get the AMK Products Guide to Ford Fasteners 1955-73. They are about 90-95 pct accurate, which is better than nothing.

I looked at his website and may try to order, but may have to phone him as he does not have email and also does not appear to have paypal.

Before I do all this. What details does the 1965 electrical assembly manual give?

Are there pictures of the underdash wireing ? or just diagrams like in the workshop manual.

I am wishing to confirm that my foglight wireing is stock, will I be able to tell from this manual ?

    Thanks Jim

  • For the most part they are drawings, no photographic quality pictures. I'll send you a copy of one page of the 66 body manual for you take a look at. Sorry, I don't have any electrical pages scanned but the instrument cluster drawing shows the entire associated wiring, routing and hardware.

  • My thanks to the guys who sent me info.

I bet you are really looking forward to my next 'quick' enquiry

  • Since assembly line GT cars did not come with rocker moldings, I've found that removing the sill plate molding and feeling to see if there are filled holes for the rocker moldings is one my methods of verifying GTs...as well as what has been mentioned. These holes would be very difficult to smooth out on the inside without replacing the entire rocker panel. There is not much room to put a grinder down there. Check for original spot welds and dates on your rocker to assure yourself its the original panel.
