How to Clean a White Convertible Top?

One of the ponies in my stable is a '95GT Convertible with a white top. What do you guys recommend to clean the top? I've tried a bunch of stuff and cannot get top to look white and not light gray.<img src=images/icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have seen on other postings that wesley's bleach white works good and ford makes stuff called 'triple clean' for tires and convert tops and vinyl tops, probably the same stuff as wesleys.

A friend of mine swears by the tire cleaner at the local quarter car wash. I have not tried it, but the attendant told me that it will not harm paint finishes either.

I realize the material is very different, but I have had very good luck cleaning my white vinyl top with "Simple Green" and a soft brush. This has not harmed the top (I put a vinyl treatment on it after cleaning) and is also not harmful to paint.
