The 4th Edition....

Any idea of when?

As many of you know, I am in the process of relocating from Raleigh, NC to Richmond, VA. As well as getting my house ready for market in Raleigh, I had to build a garage up in Richmond for all my stuff and cars. This has taken a tremendous amount of my time. As a result, it has not left the amount of time I had planned on to work on the 4th Edition. I apologize for this, but I need to finish this house and get it on the market. I am working with a couple of printers on technical issues and pricing, but have not made a final decision on one yet. The plan is to be out of this house by the end of this month and I will put a 100% effort in the 4th Edition at that time. So it will be at least 4 more weeks before we go to press and probably another 2 weeks to get the books back and in the mail. I thank you for your understanding and if any of you wish a refund on your Pre-Publishing Order, I will gladly refund it because it has taken so long. Unfortunately, things don't always go according to one's plan. Thanks again. Regards, Marv.

Marv, Have you found a printer yet?? reason I ask is that I work for a pretty good size commercial printer here in Florida, and may be they would be interested in looking at the book.

I'm currently working with 2 printers. I'm afraid that the shipping from FL may inflate the price too much. I've found that very large print shops don't want to mess with the small quantity that we order. I'm close to deciding upon one of these printers and would like to continue on this path. The book is nearly ready to go to the printer. I am in the process of applying for ISBN and EAN numbers. This will add to the time as we wade through that bureaucracy. Thanks again for your patience.

I will be moving in a month. I'm not 100% sure of my new address yet. Will this happen in a month or can I change my address with you then? I don't want to miss this new version, I truly appreciate the Third edition I bought a few years ago. Thanks again. I think I'll be moving about 8 miles away, yet I have to tow the Kar there. I don't think the local po-po will like the no headlights/wipers/interior/etc... look<img src=images/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I should have a proof from the printer this week. I then have to review it, Tony has to review it, we have to talk about our changes, the changes have to be made, I have to apply for ISBN and EAN Numbers, I have to pay the printer a "pile of money", and then in 2-3 weeks he starts printing the book. The end is near. Whew!!

A quick update. I should be getting the ISBN and EAN numbers shortly. Once I receive them, the printer can add them to the book and begin printing. So I should be receiving the book in the next 2-3 weeks- for real! I'm still accepting pre-publication orders at the $28.00 price until 12:01AM on Tuesday 09/12/06. After that point the price will be considerbly higher. If you would like to order one, go to the Order HPM Stuff link and the information is there.

If you have already ordered via USPS Mail, please resend me your Mailing Address as some of my addresses file has been corrupted- ONLY IF YOU ORDERED VIA USPS MAIL. Please do this as soon as possible so that I can ship the book to you as soon as possible. Thanks again for your patience. Marv.
