• Happy New Year Everyone! I am currently rebuilding a 1965 Hipo engine which has a date code of 5F17 (June 17 1965) My question is… would this engine be painted blue or would this engine be painted black? Also, would it have the aluminum early water pump or the later cast-iron pump? Thanks, Paul

  • The engine would be black and would use the uncommon C5OE cast iron water pump.

  • Thanks Fred, Is this the correct water pump? “C5OE-B” The content cannot be displayed because you do not have authorisation to view this content. The content cannot be displayed because you do not have authorisation to view this content.

  • That is the correct casting but the wrong impeller. Yours is standard with 4 holes and straighter vanes. The Hipo has 3 holes and curved vanes.
