Does Ford make a group 27 battery for 65 mustang?
The 27 is too long for the 65 Mustang battery tray. The max size is a 24F.

I have a Motorcraft group 90 in mine. It let’s me use the factory hold down. Many 24’s do not have the lip on the side.

At one point my intention was a 24F and the Autolite cover, but I had a hard time finding one with the lip. I needed a battery and access to this style was free. It’s the second one I’ve had, the first lasted 8 years. I quit looking for a 24F. I bought a 67 style tray and hold down a year or so after using the the first 90, thinking I would get a 24 when it failed, but time passed. I got this battery free also this past spring.
