65 Mustang Konvertible is for sale on BAT by seller emark:
This 1965 Ford Mustang convertible was ordered through the San Jose sales office and reportedly remained registered in California until the late 1990s. The triple-black convertible was ordered with a K-Code 289ci V8 paired to a four-speed manual transmission, and it has GT equipment, Magnum 500-style wheels, and front bucket seats. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2020 from its previous owner of 22 years, and it now shows 83k miles. This K-code Mustang is now offered in California with a clean Colorado title.
The car is finished in Raven Black with a black convertible top and boot, and the selling dealer notes the car has been repainted and the top replaced. GT equipment includes grille lights, side stripes, and dual exhaust tips exiting through the valance.
The Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with 205/75 Radial GT Performance tires that the selling dealer states require replacement. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with black trim. The radio does not work.
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. An 8k-rpm tachometer and analog clock are mounted on the column. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 500 miles of which were added under current ownership.
The K-code 289ci V8 was factory rated at 271 horsepower. The carburetor has been rebuilt, and the engine has Cobra-logo valve covers.
The engine block stamping reads 5R08K154459, which matches the car’s chassis number sequence shown below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a rear axle with 3.25:1 gears.
Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:
