• Can anybody tell me if the fuel line from the fuel pump to the Autolite 4100 carb on a late 65 hi-po runs in front of the distributor or behind.

  • The pictures o 65’s I see on google have the line behind the distributor. Some appear to be “perfect” restorations with the early double hump are cleaner.

Now that I see that, I probably put the wrong line on my January 65 build. My kar had a Holley when I bought it in 76, I put a 4100 on it about 25 years ago, never thought about the fuel line and bought one that is in front. I have the double hump lid, so it is an early car, but I don’t know what’s specifically considered early or late.
Basically I have been of little help.

  • Don't take this as gospel but my understanding is that it depends on the fuel pump. If your fuel pump has a changeable screw on fuel filter then the hard fuel line passes behind the dist.

If there is no fuel filter on the fuel pump then there would be a small screw on fuel filter on the carb inlet.

The filter on the carb pushed the fuel inlet toward the front of the car a bit and forced the hard line to be routed in front of the distributor.
