Gotta Fish Carburetors?
Maybe a typo.
Welcome.
Convertibles are the rarest body style for K-codes! Mine was assembled in San Jose and has spent it's entire life locally.
Are reproduction tags available? I lost mine 40 years ago.

They are worth more than anything!
(I may be biased)
Mystery slolved.
Thank you.
While cleaning up my garage I came accross a 4bbl intake with an engine tag on it that I can't seem to decode. It lists the engine code as 574-C.
I was unable to find that number in any of the online decoder lists. The tag states that it is a 289 with a 1964 build date. Can someone shed some light on what engine this tag identifies? I'm hoping it's my original intake and tag, I've run aluminum manifolds for decades.
Wow, that could be anything! A bare wire indicates that it's non-factory. Finding the other end of it will probably be the only way to determine what it's there for. I guess you could disconnect it and see if anything changes. Good luck.
I'll try to dig up some pics. It came with a Rally Pac and power top as the only options.
Mine is a convertible, September '64 build date.
Hi Dave!
I too own an early production San Jose produced Hi-Po Mustang Vintage Burgundy!
Mine has stayed in the Bay Area all of it's life.
Glad to have you aboard.
Play the lottery!
You're a guaranteed winner!
Welcome back Dave.
If your car was built in San Jose then mine was scheduled to be built 10 days before yours.
The only coupes that would NOT have those holes would have been ones with the accent group, a rare factory option where the ornamentation was replaced with striping, or where new 1/4 panels were installed.
Question about the 1/4 holes.
My convertible does not have them and I don't think it had any optional quarter striping. Was there a side trim delete option for convertibles?

Hi Pete, if that's your zip code in your profile name then welcome from another Californian. I'm in NorCal
Hello and welcome from another California K owner.
What's the story on your car? San Jose built?
Thanks for the update. That's good news. I'm hopeful that you will be able to the same for the other years.
