Va Mustang Blog

  • The car you guys all gladly provided advice for is on the VA Mustang Blog. I have never been able to figure out how to post pictures on this forum but there is a link to lots of photos of hipo stuff on the blog. Just wanted to say thanks to each and every one of you for the help you provided in this labor of love. Check out under "customers car" in March 08.

  • Real nice John! Did you use new chrome for the fold down? I'd like to see a close up shot of your wheels and wheel trim. It looks different than my trim rings and I'm curious about them. You say they are original?

That blog is a very nice addition to VA Classic Mustang's website. I even managed to get a post in on there!

  • John: I viewed your photos and it appears that you did one fine job. I also learned something in the process. I didn't know that Ford was using the Tung-Sol Fomoco etched headlamps in 1965. I have a pair of the Westinghouse with Fomoco logo embedded under the glass, the bottom of the bulb has only a W and General Electric bulbs etched with Fomoco as your Tung-Sol. I think Ford was also using Sylvania bulbs at that time. I don't know that Ford was using the Wagner 6012 bulbs during that period.(1964-1966) I'm not even sure the company was around then. Any way great job.

  • Congratulations John! Your non-stop pursuit of correctness is apparent in the finished product. Thank you for all the help you have provided to me and to the hobby.

  • Thanks for the post, John.

Many of you know John. For those who do not, he is just a great guy and a true automobile enthusiast. I just admire the fact that he has such beautiful cars, yet still drives them everywhere. I think that we may have met at a show in the early '80's and still stay in contact. Too bad he does not live closer to Virginia! It's just fun to "talk cars" with someone like that. It starts with the cars, but it really is all about the people. I've made tons of friends by being in this hobby.

  • Some time ago there was mentioned a removeable top for a Mustang conv. - I was unable to post photos on this forum although some of you had contaced me by PM for information. Brant has been kind enough to include information, photos and details of the "Towne Top" removeable hardtop for an early Mustang on the Virginia Mustang blog. If you are interested in obscure accessories for Mustangs you may find this good reading. Thanks again to Brant at Virginia Mustang for providing a means to share information about our favorite car.
