65 Mustang Fastback Rangoon Red with black standard interior is for sale by BAT seller "RokDox" with a starting bid of $10,000.00:
This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback is finished in red over black vinyl and powered by a K-code 289ci V8 equipped with three two-barrel carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was reportedly refurbished under prior ownership in Arizona, and equipment includes American Racing 14” wheels, front disc brakes, bright rocker panel trim, a center console, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. Work performed since the seller’s acquisition in 2021 is said to have included rebuilding the carburetors, repairing the passenger-side window regulator, and replacing the brake master cylinder, engine temperature sensor, and speedometer cable. This Mustang fastback is now offered with a collection of trophies, a High-Performance equipment manual, a car cover, partial service records, and a clean Utah title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in red and features chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and bright rocker panel trim. Paint chips and scratches on the left rocker panel are shown up close in the gallery.
American Racing 14” wheels are mounted with 205/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial-branded redline tires showing 2021 date codes. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back, and the master cylinder is said to have been replaced in 2021.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional appointments include an AM/FM cassette stereo in the factory location, an aftermarket center console with integrated cupholders, and Mustang-branded floor mats. The front seats were reupholstered in 2004 and the passenger window regulator was repaired in 2021.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer flanked by four auxiliary gauges as well as column-mounted Rally-Pac gauges including a tachometer and clock. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership. The speedometer gear and cable were reportedly replaced in 2021. True mileage is unknown.
The K-code 289ci Hi-Po V8 is equipped with a trio of two-barrel carburetors. Records and receipts from a 1996 engine and transmission rebuild are shown in the gallery below. The carburetors were tuned and the temperature sensor was replaced in 2021, according to the seller.
The engine stamping is shown above. Additional stamps and casting numbers are displayed in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The vehicle warranty number reveals that the car is a 1965 Mustang fastback that left the Dearborn, Michigan, plant equipped with a 289ci High Performance V8 and a four-barrel carburetor.
Car show trophies are included in the sale, and the corresponding dates and details are described in the gallery.
