65 Konvertible Heater hose location

  • I am trying to find pictures of the heater hose location for my 65 vert.

I have the support strap mounted on the front hole but one of the hoses seems to long .

I would like to see correct placement before I shorten it.

I think maybe it should go on the other side of the coil wire ?

Its a Dearborn Kar built Dec 10/64

  • My May 65 Dearborn car has routing similar to what you are showing above. I believe this is typical for Dearborn cars. San Jose cars with the U strap and 2 screws route the hose on the other side of the coil. (as do the Shelby's with no strap)

  • Thanks 65KGT !

So should I leave the hose length the same ?

I was thinking it would look better shorter but I want to stay as correct as possible.

I also do like the look of the hose on the other side of the coil, I think it looks a little cleaner.

  • RTATE, it appears that you do not have the 90 degree water fitting on your intake manifold side for the heater hose. Look at the picture by 65KGT.

  • That is the piece although the originals had a restriction internally to slow the water flow through the heater. I have NOS Ford ones that look about the same as the repro one in your post.

  • Is there a "more correct" finish for the fitting?

I have a Zinc one here in my parts stash but I see a zinc dichromate finish listed as well.
