Here are some concours K's at the 60th Anniversary show held at Barber Motorsports.
Here are a couple of photos of the Radiator that is in my May 65 Dearborn K.
Also a few more of it in the car on this web page: 65K Engine
DEP C4ZE-8005 G1 5DD on the side strap as Fred noted. G1 is found in the Dearborn/Metuchen Ks.
The super expensive, hard to find G2, is for the San Jose cars (Shelby cars drive the price up)
Can you share the contact info for Don Brown?
My K has F5TBZ 00135. Is the serial number right after the part # ?
It has an April 22, 65 date code.
This nice 66 Koupe sold for $60K at the Greensboro Auto Auction on February 25.
This BAT auction had some knowledgable commentary. That certainly makes it more interesting.
Kar sold for $65K. Another strong price.
This 1965 Ford Mustang is a K-code fastback that was assembled in San Jose, California, and ordered through the Seattle, Washington, district sales office. The car was acquired by the seller in December 2018 and subsequently underwent refurbishment work that included a repaint in red over black upholstery. Power comes from a 289ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes chrome 14″ styled steel wheels, front disc brakes, a folding rear seat, power steering, and a push-button radio. This K-code fastback is offered with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Sold for $100K plus 10% buyer's premium for $110K total.
Sold for $80K plus 10% Buyers premium for a total of $88K.
Note the roof rail retainer and sash moldings are missing. Expensive and hard to find.
It claims to have original 65 wheels but looks like 66 repops to me.
Sold for $105K plus 10% buyer premium for a total of $115,500.
Very strong price!
Note that this car may be in the registry as 6T09K156905 ( deluxe interior, raven black car ).
Bid to $36,550 on 12/27 and did not meet reserve.
My May 65 Dearborn car has routing similar to what you are showing above. I believe this is typical for Dearborn cars. San Jose cars with the U strap and 2 screws route the hose on the other side of the coil. (as do the Shelby's with no strap)
This 1966 Ford Mustang coupe was delivered new to Graham Motors of Albion, Nebraska and is said to have been part of the Ford dealership owner’s collection for a number of years prior to its acquisition by the current owner in 2010. The car was originally powered by a K-code 289ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and a 347ci stroker V8 was installed in 2011. Finished in red over a black interior, the car is also equipped with front disc brakes, American Racing wheels, a Hurst shifter, woodgrain interior accents, a push-button AM radio, and a heater. This Mustang is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with service records dating back to the 1960s, its window sticker and build sheet, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Illinois title in the current owner’s name.
Big ticket items that appear to be incorrect are the carb, fuel pump, and radiator. I would also expect to see a low profile rally-pac with a deluxe interior. Would you be planning to drive the car or show at concours venues ? Its a really nice car but several incorrect details under the hood and with the under carriage if planning to show.
Ad also does not mention if the car retains its original drivetrain.
Not sure what your restoration goals are, but Dan creates some very nice shocks for concours judging.
Here are a couple of Concours Ks at the MCA show in Eureka Springs, AR
Relisted with a new buy it now price of $54000.00. Description has been updated with some carefully crafted language.
The schedule build date and VIN on the data plate both indicate a mid January 65 Dearborn Kar. That's a bit early for a " looking at a real deal 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback K Code 4 speed GT".
The Data Plate lists the body as 63A. Highly unlikely that a standard trim car retains its
" Original Deluxe Pony interior" .
While some buyers may not care about the originality, those two statements along with a body color change makes you wonder what else might have been changed along the way.
65 Mustang GT Fastback Red with black deluxe interior is for sale by Ebay seller "American Mustangs" as as buy it now auction with a price of $59000.00
Ad Description:
You are looking at a real deal 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback K Code 4 speed GT that has its original VIN stamped engine and Original 4 Speed, along with the original 9" rear end. This car was restored years ago and has mostly been setting in a garage since the 90's.
The car has black pony interior, and is very solid top to bottom. The car has front disc brakes for that extra stopping power for the high revving 289 HIPO engine. The car has its factory VIN stamps on the fender aprons and the original door tag.
This car is ready to be taken out and driven and enjoyed. It is not a concourse car but a ready that is ready to be used.

Body and Paint:
The body of the car is extremely solid with no rust holes or ugly patches. All of the sheet metal looks original. I cant see anywhere where anything has been cut or replaced. Frame rails and trunks floors all look perfect, even the original quarter panels and floor pans. The car was originally green but is now red. The paint is very glossy and shows well but has imperfections all over due to setting in a hot Georgia garage for years. The paint if popping and lifting in many areas. The car would be great for a driver but to be a show car it would need paint, even though it look great.
Underneath the car is very clean and original although there is some surface rust on some floor areas and bare metal items such as exhaust, brackets etc.
Interior:
Original Deluxe Pony interior with console and fold down rear seats. Interior looks really good to be all original. Headliner is also in good shape. See all the pictures.
